Law Reports of the Australian War Crimes Trials 1945–1951
This reference work presents a comprehensive and systematic collection of law reports from the 300 war crimes trials conducted by Australian Military Courts between 1945 and 1951. These trials, held across eight locations in the Asia-Pacific region, represent a significant but previously under-documented chapter in the history of international criminal law.
Given the absence of written judgments in many of these proceedings, the law reports draw extensively from trial transcripts. They offer in-depth accounts of prosecution and defence arguments, legal issues raised, and the resulting judgments and sentences. This approach ensures that the legal reasoning and procedural aspects of the trials are preserved and accessible.

Based on Brill’s microfiche collection, the resource brings together more than 1,200 volumes and approximately 400,000 pages of statistical and descriptive information on the region, providing extensive coverage of its geography, history, economy, administration, and society.
The collection includes the Imperial Gazetteer of India, including the 1881, 1885–1887, and revised 1909 editions, as well as the Provincial Series (1908–1909) and the District Series.
